The Greater Lovell Land Trust, Charlotte Hobbs Library and Hewnoaks Artist Colony invite you to join us at HewnOaks to explore and reflect on our personal connections to the landscape, elements, seasons, birds, and other wildlife. Under the guidance of Poet Judith Steinbergh, and with inspiration from our surroundings, plus short pieces by poets and naturalists, we will draft our writing and share with the group. Representatives from Maine artist residencies will offer an overview of their various programs. Presenters include the Hewnoaks Artist ColonyMaine College of Art Residencies, Haystack Mountain School of CraftsMonhegan Artists’ Residency, Celebration Barn Theater, Watershed Center for the Ceramic ArtsThe KISMET Foundation, and Joseph A. Fiore Art Center. Administrators will discuss the specifics of their residency, who is a good fit, and what makes for a successful application. Admission is free.

Adventure through time starting with a presentation about Lovell’s Volk family and their role in early 20th century American Art. Presented by Johanna Moore.

The second part of this program will take place at Hewnoaks, Route 5, Lovell on Thursday, August 6, 10-noon. Join us there to share your stories and experiences from Hewnoaks when Jessie Volk rented out the cottages.
